About the MPowerment Project

The Mpowerment Project is a peer and network based community-level intervention which uses a combination of informal and formal outreach, discussion groups, creation of safe spaces, social opportunities, and social marketing to reach a broad range of HIV positive and HIV negative gay and bisexual men between the ages of 20 to 35 who are sexually active, Spanish language dominant and immigrants & migrants who use safer sex strategies and disclosure of status inconsistently depending on the environment and social situation and whether their sex partners are long term, short term or anonymous.
Mpowerment Groups

The project "Mpowerment" has several components all to promote discussion of issues affecting the gay Latino community. These activities are developed either at our facilities or doing community work, being part of an informative session or watching a movie. The two mayor groups are Latinos D and Punto de Encuentro. Latino D is the working group in charge of organizing onsite events and outreach activities. Punto de Encuentro is a weekly gathering conversation.
